Dr. Jinhee Park’s Fundraiser for the Syrian Refugee Relief Medical Mission at Zataari Refugee Camp in Jordan as part of the Global Outreach Doctors GoDocs Team: April 1-12, 2016
Hello my name is Dr. Jinhee Park and I am an integrative medicine physician and medical acupuncturist practicing in Los Gatos California.
When I was five years old I read an autobiography of Dr. Albert Schweitzer who was a gifted doctor who spent a significant amount of his life time dedicated to medical missionary trips overseas. Ever since then it has been my dream to follow his footsteps, by becoming a doctor and being able to bring healing to those who are underserved in the world.
Fast forward 32 years later, I have been blessed to be able to achieve my dream of becoming a doctor studying both Western medicine and Eastern medicine to bring the most optimal holistic patient care.
I recently joined the Global Outreach Doctors organization as a volunteer physician. As part of the GoDocs team, I am planning on going on a medical missionary trip to the Zataari refugee camps in Jordan 4/1/2016 – 4/12/2016 to help and heal the medically underserved Syrian refugees who have been going through a lot of suffering in the past few years.
It especially breaks my heart that a majority of these refugees are school aged children and teenagers who are suffering from malnourishment and severe illnesses due to poor medical care. Not only are they physically traumatized but even more serious is their mental trauma that results in unseen post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and insomnia that can negatively affect their lives long term if not treated properly. Acupuncture has been proven to be very effective in treating mental health issues without side effects.
As a physician having been trained in both Western Medicine and Eastern Medicine, I have the skills to bring healing to these people the Zataari refugee camp at the Jordan border.
Our Global Outreach Doctors GoDocs team is composed of 10 health professionals. We are planning to see at least 1000 Syrian refugee patients a day in a pre-established hospital clinic during our 12day mission.
Global Outreach Doctors organization is run totally on a volunteer basis. Therefore, I ask you today for financial support to help fund our medical mission.
Your donations will help support direct medical care for the Syrian refugees, food, water, acupuncture and other medical supplies, shelter, and all other aspect of GoDocs team and our relief efforts in the Zataari refugee camp in Jordan.
I have a goal of raising at least $3000 by April 1, 2016. Whether you are in a position to donate $1 or $1000, every dollar helps and is immensely appreciated. I can assure you that it will be utilized in the most honorable way. THANK YOU!
